A roundup of Thrivent news: New board chair, Thrivent Choice changes, Ethisphere honor, Thrivent calendar & more

Lynn Crump-Caine named chair of Thrivent’s board

Lynn Crump-Caine began her new role as chair of Thrivent’s Board of Directors in February. Elected by the board, Crump-Caine succeeds N. Cornell Boggs III, who served on the board since 2013 and as chair since 2023.

“Lynn’s extensive business and leadership experience, deep understanding of Thrivent’s transformation and commitment to our purpose make her the ideal choice to chair our Board of Directors,” says Thrivent President and CEO Terry Rasmussen.

Crump-Caine, the only Black woman currently serving in a board chair role at a Fortune 500 company, has been on Thrivent’s board since 2016. She has decades of experience in corporate leadership, consulting and board leadership. She spent 30 years of her career at McDonald’s Corporation, where she served as executive vice president of worldwide operations and directed global operations departments for more than 31,000 McDonald’s restaurants worldwide. She is the founder of Outsidein Consulting, where she advises organizations on business management and leadership development.

Thrivent Choice® changes make it easier for clients to support what matters

Thrivent Choice® has introduced exciting updates that simplify the program and give more clients with membership the opportunity to support the organizations and causes they care about. Here’s what’s new:

  • One annual designation. In mid-April, Choice Dollars® were designated up front as a single annual lump sum. Members can now direct their full amount anytime between now and year-end. Pro tip: Don’t wait until Dec. 31—direct today!
  • More members are eligible. Now, all Thrivent members receive Choice Dollars, expanding the reach of generosity. If you’ve been eligible in the past, nothing changes about how Choice Dollars are calculated. Never directed before? Learn more.

The heart of the program remains the same: Members continue to have a voice in where millions of dollars in grant funding go each year—strengthening causes, congregations and communities nationwide.

Thrivent recognized among the World’s Most Ethical Companies® for 15 consecutive years

For Thrivent, ethics isn’t a separate initiative. It’s woven into how we serve our members, manage resources responsibly and live out our purpose every day. That commitment was recognized for the 15th consecutive year as Thrivent was named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® by Ethisphere.

Thrivent is one of only six financial services organizations included on this year’s list and one of just two in the industry to receive the recognition for 15 consecutive years.

Each year, Ethisphere evaluates organizations through a comprehensive assessment that examines how companies support ethical decision-making, care for people and communities, and build trust over the long term. The process includes an extensive review of company practices and policies, followed by an evaluation by an independent panel of experts.

The recognition reflects Thrivent’s ongoing commitment to acting with integrity—not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it helps create better outcomes for members, employees and the communities we serve. It reinforces the values that guide our work and the promise we make to put our members and communities first.

“Being named one of the World’s Most Admired Companies underscores the progress we’re making to transform Thrivent into a modern, purpose-based financial services organization,” says Terry Rasmussen, Thrivent’s president and CEO. “I’m proud of how our teams are strengthening client relationships; enabling lives of service and faith; and positioning us to serve future generations with even greater clarity, confidence and care—reflecting both our heritage and the momentum we’re building.”
