How Thrivent is responding to the COVID-19 situation

As a financially strong and stable organization, Thrivent is here to help you navigate times of uncertainty. For more than 100 years, we’ve been supporting our clients through times like these, helping them take steps to feel confident about their finances.

We understand the devastating impacts of COVID-19, including financial difficulties. At this time, Thrivent is offering an extended grace period for life and health insurance products. Thrivent will not lapse your contract due to non-payment of premiums during the pandemic. For our workforce

Thrivent is committed to protecting the health and safety of our workforce while ensuring we continue to fulfill our purpose and provide excellent service to our clients. The steps we are taking include:

  • Equipping the majority of our workforce to work remotely with one another, our clients and community partners.
  • Implementing a measured and phased approach for returning to our offices across the country.
  • Maintaining return-to-work plans and guidelines to help keep our workforce, visitors and clients safe during each phase.
  • Conducting all group meetings and events virtually.

We will continue to revisit and adapt our plans as circumstances evolve, and we work in new ways to serve our clients and communities.

For our members and communities

We strongly encourage you to review and adhere to guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as additional guidelines by public and health officials in your community.

Thrivent is holding Thrivent Member Network (TMN) Events virtually whenever possible, and canceling or postponing those events that can only be held in person.

Your Community Engagement Team will be sharing specific information about events and activities in your region as changes are made. Watch for updates on your TMN page on

Regarding Thrivent Action Teams, many members are choosing to postpone previously scheduled events or move those events online for the safety of participants and their communities. Thrivent is automatically extending all Thrivent Action Teams originally scheduled for March or April through June 30, 2020. If you would like a longer extension or would prefer to cancel, please email or call our Member Connection Center at 800-847-4836 and say "Action Teams" at the prompt.

Now more than ever is the time to lift up and support each other. As of April 9th, the amazing generosity and action of over 45,000 Thrivent members along with their friends, family and neighbors generated $12.5 million of much-needed financial support to over 17,000 for non-profits organizations and churches around the country.

The Thrivent Foundation is complementing the generosity of Thrivent’s members by donating $150,000 to three relief funds in the Fox Cities and Twin Cities – the communities where Thrivent’s corporate offices are located – to support people and non-profits impacted by COVID-19. The Foundation is also providing its partners with general operating funds to help them offset the initial burden COVID-19 has placed on their capacity.
