Fraud Protection Guarantee

We are dedicated to fulfilling the promises we make to our clients— protecting your finances, helping you achieve financial clarity and enabling lives of meaning and gratitude. If Unauthorized Activity occurs on your Eligible Thrivent account, we will reimburse your account. Let’s partner together to keep your contracts and accounts safe.

What are Eligible Thrivent Contracts or Accounts?

Covered: Thrivent issued Annuity, Life Insurance, Mutual Fund and Brokerage products.

What is Unauthorized Activity?

Unauthorized Activity is any contract or account activity that occurs without your consent or involvement, and not because of you sharing access to your contract or account.

You are responsible for keeping your contract and account information private. If you share your login ID, password, access code, authentication information, or other access information with anyone – including but not limited to, family, third-party mobile or web applications, financial advisers, accountants, attorneys, and/or Attorney-in-Fact, resulting activity is not covered by this Fraud Protection Guarantee.

What must you do to be eligible?

To be eligible for reimbursement, you must maintain unique online account credentials, check your contract and account information regularly, and promptly review correspondence, statements, confirmations, and alerts as they are made available to you. Unauthorized Activity must be reported immediately, but no later than 120 days after Unauthorized Activity occurred to be eligible for reimbursement. Report Unauthorized Activity to Thrivent at 800-847-4836.

How We’ll Work Together

If you report Unauthorized Activity, your assistance will be needed as part of our investigation. Failure to assist in any applicable part of our investigation will result in ineligibility for reimbursement.

For example, we may require you to perform the following:

  • File a police report
  • Provide an affidavit
  • Take steps to recover the funds
  • Change who may benefit from the contract and/or account, if needed
  • Have your device assessed by a security professional at your expense and have any identified security concerns remediated timely.

What losses are not covered?

  • Fees or damages. For examples include taxes, legal fees, lost opportunity costs, consequential/non-monetary damages.
  • Funds sent to accounts in your own name, including internal or external financial account in your name, this includes individual or jointly held accounts.
  • Losses due to knowingly or unknowingly falling victim to scams or exploitation
  • Losses if you don’t follow Thrivent’s security recommendations. For example, securing your computer or resetting passwords.
