As a farm kid from Kansas, he fantasized about airplanes but felt certain he would never have the opportunity to pilot one. It would be the United States Navy who afforded Plumb the opportunity to live out that dream. But what came next, was something he would have never imagined!

    You will be spellbound as Captain Charlie Plumb shares his story of being shot down, captured, tortured, and imprisoned in an 8-by-8 foot cell, spending the next 2,103 days as a Prisoner Of War in communist war prisons. His insights on how to cope with the difficulties as well as the opportunities in life have a positive impact on those who hear his message, those who read his books, and those who come to know him as a friend.

    As a purposed-based financial services organization, we come together each year to celebrate the countless ways you—our members—inspire generosity and help improve people’s lives and communities.

    We invite you to join us for our Annual Celebration of Membership, the Joy of Generosity, hosted by the Thrivent Member Network–South Dakota Plains Region. It's "Faith & Family Night" at the baseball stadium as the Sioux Falls Canaries take on the Chicago Dogs. Attendees will have an opportunity to celebrate faith, family, and fellowship while enjoying America's favorite pastime and thrilling baseball action. Bring your family for this multi-generational event. Hot dogs and soda will be provided, courtesy of Thrivent. Register today, tickets are limited.

    And speaking of "hotdogs", it's also Waggin' Wednesday at the birdcage. Join us in supporting several local dog rescue organizations by bringing donations of the following items to the event (this is optional, but certainly appreciated):
