Regional leadership
The Thrivent Member Network regional board is made up of Thrivent clients with membership. The board provides leadership and strategic insights to help carry out Thrivent's mission on a local level. Clients with membership can have a voice by voting in the elections for the Thrivent Member Network board.
During his nearly 40 years at Concordia University-Portland, Driessner has helped prepare students to transform society through servant leadership. As a board member of the Pacific Cascade Region, Driessner will help guide efforts to increase Thrivent's visibility and support members who want to be a force for good in their local communities.
Johnston’s passion for serving youth and educating the next generation brought him to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where he has spent over seven years and supports the Western Oregon region as the Multi-Area Director. Johnston is looking forward to working with the executive leadership team to strategically meet Thrivent’s goals for community involvement and church partnerships.
For over 25 years, Ridenour has been serving our region in leadership roles in education and community impact, most recently serving as the CEO of Idaho Nonprofit Center. Ridenour is now the executive director at Jannus, Inc. in Boise. She has extensive volunteer experience with youth serving organizations, the National Council for Nonprofits and was appointed to the Serve Idaho Commission by former Governor Little in 2021. Ridenour grew up in Spokane, WA, and graduated from the University of Idaho where she received a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education.
VanderLeest is the Regional Director for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He has served as a board member for several organizations. VanderLeest is eager to learn, listen, and collaborate with colleagues and fellow board members serving on the Thrivent Member Network. The diversity, skill, insight, wisdom, and professional expertise VanderLeest has seen first-hand has him thrilled and humbled to be part of the Thrivent Member Network Board. He has been privileged to have been actively involved in efforts to steward God’s resources for 20+ years faithfully and is eager to be part of Thrivent’s efforts in the Western US.
Our leaders work in the best interest of our membership––not third-party shareholders, like publicly traded companies. Clients with a benefit membership can vote in the annual election for the Thrivent Board of Directors. As the organization’s supreme governing body, the board focuses on serving the interests of the membership, both now and into the future. The board establishes and promotes Thrivent’s purpose and oversees major business decisions, and works with leadership to assess and manage risk.
