The Thrivent Member Network regional board is made up of Thrivent clients with membership. The board provides leadership and strategic insights to help carry out Thrivent's mission on a local level. Clients with membership can have a voice by voting in the elections for the Thrivent Member Network board.
A Thrivent member since 2010, Birschbach hopes that in her role on the board, she can help strengthen her community and the region. An attorney at Steimle Birschbach, LLC, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Birschbach says the Thrivent Way resonates with her. “The more people can live balanced and generous lives, the more our overall community thrives.”
The managing partner at McCarty Law LLP, Appleton, Wisconsin, looks forward to continuously learn more about Thrivent and helping the organization grow locally. He has board experience at several regional nonprofit organizations. “Thrivent is such a force in our community and I would hope to be part of continuing the great work that already is a vital part of our region.”
LaCroix is the Superintendent of Schools, Howard-Suamico School District. He is looking forward to contributing to the mission of Thrivent and learn from other thought leaders.
Skrenes is the former bishop of the Northern Great Lakes Synod of the ELCA, located in Marquette, Michigan. A Thrivent member since 1971, Skrenes hopes to help Thrivent impact more lives with the message of generosity. He believes we can grow stewardship and generosity through stronger values for our members. “I want to serve God’s people in the East Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Region, sharing my passion for generosity.”
Dr. Wiltzius spearheads his own practice Wiltzius Associates, LLC. A Thrivent member since 2015, he hopes to provide guidance to the regional Thrivent leadership and promote the mission of Thrivent in area communities. “As a long-term consultant to and supporter of Thrivent, I recently was able to become an ‘all-in’ member, and look forward to leveraging my relationships and experience.”
Our leaders work in the best interest of our membership––not third-party shareholders, like publicly traded companies. Clients with a benefit membership can vote in the annual election for the Thrivent Board of Directors. As the organization’s supreme governing body, the board focuses on serving the interests of the membership, both now and into the future. The board establishes and promotes Thrivent’s purpose and oversees major business decisions, and works with leadership to assess and manage risk.
