Thrivent senior leader wins Innovator of the Year award

Luke Winskowski recognized by WealthManagement.com for pioneering innovation and emerging technologies that support financial advisor and client success.

MINNEAPOLIS — Thrivent, a Fortune 500 financial services organization, has announced that WealthManagement.com, a leading resource for wealth advisors and planners, has named Luke Winskowski, senior vice president of Advice & Wealth Management at Thrivent, as Innovator of the Year. The award recognizes Winskowski for his leadership in the financial advisory community through the development of new initiatives that assist advisors to run better businesses, elevate service to clients and change how advice is delivered—helping to transform the wealth management industry for the better this past year.

Winskowski brings an innovative approach to his work, leading a team of nearly 400 people who support financial advisors in delivering purposeful and meaningful advice to clients. Notably, Winskowski was instrumental in launching and bringing to market Thrivent’s hybrid RIA platform, Thrivent Advisor Network. In the first year of Thrivent Advisor Network, assets under management grew to more than $6 billion, including about $1 billion of organic growth within Thrivent Advisor Network affiliates.

Now in its seventh year, the WealthManagement.com Industry Awards, called the Wealthies, honor the outstanding achievements, product innovation and leadership of organizations and individuals serving the financial advisor community. More than 200 companies participated in submitting 625 nominations for the 2021 awards.

“I’m incredibly honored to receive this award on behalf of our team and the amazing advisors we represent,” said Winskowski. “I’m humbled to work alongside such an impressive group of advisors and team members who are deeply committed to helping people achieve financial clarity, enabling lives full of meaning and gratitude. At Thrivent, we’re deeply committed to equipping advisors with the resources they need so they can help clients develop purpose-driven strategies that align with their values. This is what sets us apart and drives our innovative mindset.”

Thrivent Advisor Network is meeting the unique needs of advisors and their clients
Since its launch in 2019, Thrivent Advisor Network has served as a platform for independent advisors who are committed to providing purpose-based advice to their clients. Advisors who are part of the Thrivent Advisor Network align with Thrivent’s belief that money is a tool, not a goal, and use this philosophy to build their firms and help clients make financial choices guided by their values.

Thrivent Advisor Network is currently led by Carolyn Armitage, who succeeded Winskowski following his promotion to senior vice president of Advice & Wealth Management earlier this year. Since joining the Thrivent Advisor Network, Armitage has furthered Winskowski’s legacy of excellence, service and innovative thinking and is leading meaningful programs that are resulting in progressively better experiences for independent advisors, their teams and their clients.

“This award is a recognition of Luke’s vision in creating and launching a unique hybrid RIA program,” said Carolyn Armitage, head of Thrivent Advisor Network. “Advisors join Thrivent Advisor Network because they want to be part of an RIA that creates a strong sense of community, shared values and support to help them make a significant impact in the lives of their clients. I’m looking forward to building upon the foundation Luke established, continuing to expand our offerings and support for advisors while also delivering on Thrivent’s purpose to help people make the most of all they’ve been given.”

Winskowski continues to make an impact in the community
In addition to his professional achievements, Winskowski is dedicated to advancing the financial services industry in a purposeful way. He serves on multiple nonprofit boards and volunteers with organizations like Upturnships and Twin Cities Rise to help empower youth from underserved communities find equitable and meaningful career opportunities, specifically in the financial services industry.
