Leaders will focus on growing and supporting Thrivent’s roster of purpose-driven financial professionals.
MINNEAPOLIS – Thrivent, a Fortune 500 diversified financial services organization, has named two key leaders to pivotal roles that will help drive organizational growth. Nikki Sorum has been named senior vice president of Thrivent Advisors and Luke Winskowski has been promoted to senior vice president of Advice and Wealth Management. These leaders, along with their teams, will focus on growing Thrivent’s financial professionals and equipping them with more robust digital capabilities and advice tools to help clients achieve financial clarity.
This new structure also will support and accelerate Thrivent’s ongoing transformation. The organization is continuing to make strategic investments for the future, including recently launching a new brand and national advertising campaign to build awareness and fuel growth among new generations of clients. With the addition of these two leaders, Thrivent will focus on expanding its distribution capabilities so it can guide and serve more clients.

Sorum will lead Thrivent’s career network of financial professionals as well as the remote channel. Under Sorum’s leadership, the organization will work to attract purpose-driven financial professionals who are passionate about providing advice and holistic planning solutions to clients. Her team also will focus on related business areas, including practice management and leader development. Before assuming this role, Sorum was senior vice president of membership and held several key field and marketing leadership roles at Thrivent.

Winskowski will lead the newly created Advice and Wealth Management organization. In this role, he will oversee advice delivery, product solution wholesaling and sales support, health protection solutions, and custody and brokerage services. The Advice and Wealth Management team will drive consistency and efficiency across these key areas, working to ensure that financial professionals can deliver the purpose-based advice that our clients seek. Winskowski was previously vice president and head of the Thrivent Advisor Network, Thrivent’s growing platform for independent investment advisors, which he will continue to oversee.
“Luke has broad experience spanning roles in the field and within corporate, including serving as a financial professional, business consultant and field leader,” said Fortin. “Just as he demonstrated with the Thrivent Advisor Network, Luke will bring the same level of leadership to this important new role as we focus on advice and expand our reach to serve more clients.”
Moving forward, the Commercial division will make additional strategic leadership hires to support Thrivent as it continues to deliver holistic solutions and advice through a best-in-class customer experience.
