Fitch Affirms Thrivent's AA+ (Very Strong) Rating Along With Stable Outlook

The organization’s exceptionally strong capitalization and favorable business profile contributed to the rating

MINNEAPOLIS (May 21, 2019) – Fitch Ratings affirmed Thrivent’s Insurer Financial Strength rating of AA+ (Very Strong), the second-highest of Fitch’s 19 categories, and gave the organization a stable outlook.

Fitch cited Thrivent’s exceptionally strong and high quality capitalization, and their belief that management is committed to maintaining statutory capital levels in excess of rating guidelines. As part of the affirmation, Fitch also highlighted Thrivent’s business profile, which it considers to be very strong due in part to the common bond shared by Thrivent’s membership.

These ratings reflect Thrivent’s overall financial strength and claims-paying ability, but do not apply to the investment performance of investment products. The ratings were affirmed on May 17, 2019.
