Brett Brunick joins Thrivent as chief digital and technology officer

In this newly created executive position, Brunick will lead Thrivent’s digital and technology functions focused on client experience.

MINNEAPOLIS —Thrivent, a Fortune 500 diversified financial services organization, announced that Brett Brunick has joined the company as executive vice president and chief digital and technology officer.

In this newly created role, Brunick joins Thrivent’s executive leadership team to help accelerate the organization’s transformation into a digital-first organization that offers advice, products and experiences to help clients achieve financial clarity and live lives full of meaning and gratitude.

Brunick brings depth of leadership experience spanning multiple facets of technology
Brunick comes to Thrivent with more than two decades of leadership experience spanning the digital, technology, product management, engineering, architecture, data and infrastructure areas.

Most recently, he served as executive vice president and Chief Information Officer at Twin Cities-based TCF Bank. There, he oversaw the launch of an online mobile platform, implemented a full retail Customer Relationship Management across branches and contact centers, and modernized legacy systems. During his years at TCF, Brunick embraced new and innovative ways of thinking, with a focus on building responsive experiences and improving capabilities for customers.

Prior to TCF, Brunick served in a progression of leadership roles at Target and was instrumental in building out key aspects of the consumer experience platform, including target.com, stores, data, merchandising and supply chain. He began his career in consulting as a hands-on developer.

Brunick holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Iowa State University.
