All elected chapter leaders have equal voting rights and one vote per person for all chapter related matters. Advisory board members, past financial directors, past assistant financial directors, and chapter members do not have voting rights (aside from voting during the local board elections)
A vote passes when more than half of the elected leaders at a valid meeting vote in the affirmative. In case of a tie, the vote is defeated and does not pass. Funding requests by chapter members for board approval of proposed activities may be approved without a meeting, as long as a board is comfortable with this. If approval is allowed outside of a meeting, equip board members with whatever criteria or process is utilized by the board so they can make a sound decision. The decision should be reported at the next meeting and documented in meeting minutes.
When an elected board position becomes vacant at any point in the year, a member may be appointed to fill the position and complete the term. If the member serves more than 180 days in the position this counts as one full term toward the term-limit requirement for elected leaders.
Leaders appointed by a board or Thrivent Financial (when applicable) to a required or optional elected position have the same voting rights of elected board members.
It's expected that the position be elected just like other required or optional positions in subsequent chapter leader elections.
