Entering Recipient Information

Multiple Recipients

Thrivent Financial's online system allows you to enter up to ten different recipients for a Care Abounds in Communities® program activity. At times, you may have more than 10 recipients or the recipient names and addresses may not be known at the time of the request (e.g preparing food baskets).

Here are examples of when and how to enter the multiple recipient information in these situations:

  • A community service team requests $500 of Care Abounds in Communities® program funds to assemble food baskets for many individuals who have been identified as recipients:
    1. From the "Activity Recipient Details" screen, select "Sponsored Group of Individuals" as the Recipient Type.
    2. In the "Description of Recipient Group" field, type the number of food baskets or number of individuals who will be recipients.
    3. In the "Sponsor Organization" field, type the name of the qualified not-for-profit organization that identified the individuals.

The chapter leadership board files the names and addresses of each specific recipient in its chapter files.

  • The chapter leadership board approves an activity that benefits multiple youth attending a convention:
    1. From the "Activity Recipient Details" screen, select "Sponsored Group of Individuals" as the Recipient Type.
    2. In the "Description of Recipient Group" field, type the number of youth attending the convention. Note: Never list the church as the recipient.
    3. In the "Sponsor Organization" field, type the name of the qualified not-for-profit organization that identified the individuals (this may be a congregation).
    4. In the "Address" field, type the address of the sponsor organization.

The chapter leadership board files the names and addresses of each specific youth recipient in its chapter files.

Foreign Addresses

In situations where the address of a recipient of a Care Abounds in Communities® program activity is not in the United States:

  1. Select the appropriate Recipient Type.
  2. Enter the recipient name or description of group.
  3. In the "Address" field, type "In care of" an individual or organization in the United States closely associated with the recipient that could verify receipt of funds, followed by that individual or organization's address.

The chapter leadership board files the names and addresses of the recipients in its chapter files.
