Handling Requests After All Funds Are Used
If your chapter has used most or all of its Care Abounds in Communities® funds for the year, there are options your leadership board can consider as you review requests:
- Other chapters may be able to assist. Check if the service team received funding from another chapter. You may decide to decline the request because another chapter has assisted.
- Suggest the service team consider hosting a locally supported activity that doesn't use funding from the chapter Care programs, yet provides needed help to the recipient.
- Discuss what other community services may be available to meet the need and share that information with the service team contact.
- Suggest the service team postpone its activity until next year.
Returning Excess Up-front Funds
When a community or congregational service team receives more up-front funds for a hands-on service activity than the actual expenses associated with the activity, the excess funds need to be returned. Contact the Member Connection Center for help in determining the correct process to use in returning excess funds.
