Chapter Member Social Activities

Member social activities provide Thrivent Financial chapters with an opportunity to attract and involve more members, helping them become better aware of what their membership provides. Social activities are a benefit of membership.

What's a Member Social Activity?

A chapter member social activity is defined as an activity that brings Thrivent members and their personal guests together to strengthen relationships among members.

Eligible Member Social Activity

A service team of Thrivent members must actively plan an activity, publicize the activity as one hosted by by Thrivent chapter members (e.g., hosted by members of the ABC Chapter of Thrivent Financial) and hold the activity. Only Thrivent members and their personal guests can be invited to a member social activity.

The list of possibilities for member social activities is endless; however, chapter member social activities cannot have a substantial purpose of promoting sales of products and services, including Thrivent products and services. In addition, invitees cannot be chosen based on their past or desired future Thrivent product purchases.

Chapter Funds That Support a Member Social Activity

Chapter member social activities can be supported by chapter operating funds or Care Abounds in Communities® program funds.

Important: The predominant use of Care Abounds in Communities® funds should be for charitable activities (fund-raisers and service projects).
