Filing a life insurance claim
If your loved one owned life insurance, you'll want to begin the claims process as soon as you can. If it was a Thrivent life insurance product, call 800-847-4836 or notify your Thrivent Financial representative. You'll need to have your loved one's name, Thrivent Member ID, the contract number(s), exact date and cause of death, and the name and city of the funeral home, if known.
- Obtain death certificate and other necessary information.
- Contact your loved one's insurance provider.
Settling your loved one's estate
The emotional aftermath of losing a loved one can make it difficult to think about the paperwork and financial matters you need to handle. You can put some tasks off for a bit, but estate settlement is one you should deal with sooner rather than later. Doing so will ensure assets, such as retirement accounts and insurance policies, are paid to the rightful beneficiaries.
