After a 20+ year career as a technical and executive recruiter, Sue joined Thrivent to pursue work with a deeper purpose. She supports Member Services, a division that is critical to helping Thrivent members on their Wise With Money Journey. Sue strives to find customer care professionals who are passionate about meeting members where they are, actively listening and taking appropriate action with every request.
Sue is married to a wonderful, funny guy who “gets her.” She and her husband are die-hard Packer fans who left Viking territory to relocate near the center of the universe (Lambeau). She is a mother of three – Ellen (a budding musician), Jackson (future comedy scriptwriter/stand-up comedian) and beloved pup, Claire.

Being wise with money has allowed Sue the privilege of supporting animal rescues, fostering dogs and adding two important adopted members to the family (Mugsy and Claire). Since being involved with animal advocacy, Sue's family has learned many important lessons about taking responsibility, loving and supporting each other through tough times and celebrating life. Sue often reflects upon how the animals have really been the “rescuers” in their lives.

Megan joined Thrivent in 2012 and helped build a best-in-class internship program that transformed the way Thrivent brings in the talent of the future. In fact, Vault consistently ranks Thrivent as a top internship experience. That is thanks, in part, to Megan's efforts to build Thrivent's presence on campus, create meaningful internship experiences, and support interns so they “get that job offer!”
Megan is passionate about growing a diverse and inclusive workforce. She serves as an advisor to the HUES employee resource group and represents Thrivent at diversity career fairs and events across the country.
Megan grew up in southwestern Minnesota with the intent to attend law school. While completing her master's degree, she was diverted by a newfound passion: human resources. The rest is history. When Megan is not on campus or building new programs, she is acting like a tourist in her own city – exploring and running, and traveling with her family.

As a mother of a young family, Megan strives to teach her children the value of saving and being generous with time and talents. She actively volunteers, inspiring her kids to follow in her footsteps. Megan believes in spending money on experiences vs. things. You'll find her actively teaching the next generation about the importance of saving for the future while being sure to enjoy the present.
Have you seen the movie Caddyshack? Remember the scholarship Danny Noonan was competing for? Well, Jake actually won a Caddie Scholarship and attended the University of Minnesota as an Evans Scholar. The long hours on the links taught him how to connect with a variety of personalities. That experience also instilled in him a customer service mindset that he has brought to every interaction since joining Thrivent in 2015. As a senior recruiter, Jake supports roles in the organization's investment, financial and marketing areas, as well as Thrivent Federal Credit Union.
In his free time, Jake can often be found at a bowling alley, on a softball field, playing cribbage with his colleagues or exploring new breweries in his Thrivent Live Generously T-shirt. (Oh, and ask him about his Sci-Fi watch list.)

Living generously is an important part of Jake's life. As a scholarship recipient, he is passionate about helping pay it forward. Jake focuses his efforts around his expertise – getting people jobs! Jake goes above and beyond to help people on their career journeys, often reviewing resumes and giving career and networking advice. Jake is also involved in Junior Achievement, teaching 3rd and 4th graders basic money concepts.
Ann has the ability to see the big picture and recruit trailblazers who are inspired by Thrivent's mission. She views each day as a new opportunity to meet the next game-changer who can help propel the organization to new heights.
Ann joined Thrivent in 2005 as a recruiting consultant, supporting Thrivent's regional financial offices across the country. In 2015, she became a senior recruiter, primarily focusing on customer service, sales, analyst, operations and leadership roles. She especially enjoys mentoring young professionals, college graduates and career-changers.
Ann planted her roots in Wisconsin after living in multiple cities. She is married to her soulmate and enjoys experiencing life through their son's eyes. A pizza connoisseur, Ann is known to sing along to 80s music, design landscapes, read a family-chosen book with her son and husband every night, and run a marathon or two for a good cause.

Ann's parents taught her that dollars don't rain from the sky, and hard work leads to a rewarding paycheck. With her parents' teachings in mind, Ann reviewed her spending habits and asked herself, “Is this where I want my money to go?” After a few tissues and comfort food, Ann realized she needed to reallocate her money and create an intentional spending plan. This new approach to spending, saving and giving wisely, has helped Ann's life blossom and reflects what she values most.
Michelle joined Thrivent's Information Technology area as a senior recruiter in 2018. A natural “connector,” Michelle loves meeting new people and helping them find, and do, something they're truly passionate about – their “why.” She also enjoys the challenges the IT environment brings and is excited by the positive impact it can have on the world.
Michelle was raised in La Crosse, WI, and attended the University of Minnesota. A self-identified hippie (or maybe more of a wannabe), she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. If she isn't at work, she may be walking her dog on Thrivent's trails or playing with him while enjoying the outdoors. Michelle also loves to cook and will happily pass the clean-up off to anyone willing to take it!

Michelle feels fortunate to have parents who raised her with a “wise with money” mindset. From early on, Michelle learned to equate the cost of an item with the number of chores she had to do before she could buy it. A family practice of giving back through service, such as Meals on Wheels and ringing bells for The Salvation Army, also inspired Michelle when she was growing up. She saw that being wise with money would allow her to live generously – and that is what she continues to do today.
Deb joined Thrivent in 1998, working directly with members and financial professionals in Claims & Life new business. She shifted gears in 2007, moving into HR where she found her passion for sharing Thrivent's mission. (Don't blink – 20 years goes faster than you think!) Deb share's Thrivent's story with candidates all over the U.S. who may be a good fit in one of the organization's many field roles. While she works out of Appleton, WI, Deb is the lead recruiter in the San Antonio area. She plays an important role in helping Thrivent reach out to more Latino Christians who want to be wise with money and live generously.
Outside of work you'll find Deb enjoying music, golfing, reading, gardening and spending time with family and friends. And if you have a keen eye, you just might spot her with her family at a Milwaukee Brewer game.

Deb experienced a major “wise with money moment” when it was time to prepare her kids (financially) for college. They talked about setting goals, borrowing smart and paying debt off quickly. Tools offered by Thrivent helped her family make informed decisions – lessons they can apply now and in the future.
People Systems Specialist, brightpeak financial
Krissy was an HR intern in 2016 and joined brightpeak financial in 2017. Her primary focus is recruiting and onboarding great people to brightpeak's dynamic team, located in the Minneapolis North Loop area. As a passionate advocate for the power of diversity and inclusion, Krissy is highly involved in Culture Cats. The group is focused on collectively building an inclusive and engaging work culture. Krissy also serves on Thrivent's Cultural Competence Cohort.
Krissy grew up in New Prague, MN, where she discovered her love for culture and people. She was named Miss Czech Slovak MN Miss Congeniality in 2013, which led to a trip to the Czech Republic. Outside of work, Krissy loves to travel, be active and discover new restaurants.

After graduating from college (#gustavus) and entering the working world, Krissy was faced with many competing challenges related to money, like paying for student loans, rent, utilities, gas and food – all while spending precious dollars on spontaneous adventures. Even though #adulting is hard, Krissy discovered that money can be made easier with a holistic, relational approach. She believes this approach starts with an understanding of her own money story, and then applying simple solutions that help her live a content, confident and generous life. Krissy is planning a trip to Europe in two years and is confident that her wise with money learnings will help her achieve her passion-driven goal to travel the world.

Stacy joined Thrivent as a recruiting coordinator in 2016. Prior to that, she worked as a Human Resources system analyst for one of Wisconsin's largest healthcare organizations. Stacy excels at finding better ways to do things. Give her a process to execute and she will improve it. Thanks to her impeccable coordination skills, she helped Thrivent redesign its entire field organization. She is now leading a pilot program focused on simplifying the recruiting process at the regional level.
When Stacy's not at work, you may find her with a saw or hammer in her hand. She enjoys spending time with her husband Brad, and two children at the cabin they are building. She also likes to surround herself with relatives and friends.

When she was growing up, Stacy was good at spending money – but not so good at the “saving” part. When she met her husband, all of that changed. Knowing that money is one of the topics couples argue about, they put a plan in place to create the future they wanted. It's worked so far – and they are passing the same values on to their kids.
Human Resources Intern
After talking with Thrivent recruiters on the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities campus, Carmen couldn't wait to start her HR internship in the summer of 2017. While she wasn't walking backwards at that time, Carmen has since recorded 32,000 steps – in one day – as a campus tour guide. At Thrivent, you will find her everywhere! In fact, during her internship, she supported a variety of areas within the organizations, including: university relations, talent acquisition, learning and development, and talent management.
Carmen is passionate about developing the next generation of women leaders, serving as the chapter president of Women in Business. When she's not advocating for gender equity, there is a good chance she is traveling or trying to master the Spanish language and the bagpipes.

Carmen's journey started at the age of 11 with her first babysitting gig. Since then, she's held a variety of jobs while going to school and has made a habit of setting funds away for a rainy day. As she's gotten older, that “rainy day” has included fun things like traveling and big things like school and cars. Being wise with money and how she plans for the future allows her to live both an adventurous and generous life.

Maggie joined Thrivent in 2015 as a talent acquisition coordinator supporting Thrivent's corporate and field efforts. When the corporate internship program was being developed, she jumped at the chance to build a meaningful program to attract the best and brightest to Thrivent. Her passion for recruitment shines through in all interactions, particularly in the care she puts into summer intern events. (And trying to estimate how much an intern class will eat at any given event is no small task!) Maggie is actively involved in all aspects of Thrivent's recruiting process – from scheduling and interviewing to implementing new software.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Maggie is a diehard Packer fan. She ventured across the state line to complete her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities where she pursued a double major in Human Resources and Psychology. She also competed on the D1 Women's Country and Track & Field teams as a Golden Gopher. Maggie's interests include running marathons and practicing yoga. She is also a total foodie.

Helping others is one of Maggie's core values. She helped launch the Thrivent Young Professionals Network and served on the leadership team for two years. Maggie also reaches shares her time and talents mentoring student-athletes through the Women Invested in Leadership & Learning (W.I.L.L.) student organization at the University of Minnesota.

Ashley joined Thrivent Financial in 2016 and has loved being a part of the organization. Her role has allowed her to meet a variety of people with different backgrounds and interests, and through her role she has expanded her knowledge and passion for recruiting. Outside of recruiting, she's been involved in many initiatives to support the broader organization, including running New Employee Orientation, and becoming an active committee member in Thrivent's Young Professional Network.
Ashley was born and raised in Minnesota but went to college at University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire and now currently completing her MBA at Hamline University. When she's not at work, she loves snuggling with her cat Oliver, cooking, reading, and traveling. When football season comes around, you can catch her in front of the TV most Sundays -SKOL VIKINGS! She loves meeting new people and trying new things.

Ashley's wise with money journey is constantly changing, but more recently has evolved in a big way since getting married. Her husband grew up with limited resources and through his experiences has taught her valuable lessons of saving money and learning the difference between a "need" and a "want". Mostly importantly, how to be content of what they "have". Just like the Vikings, teamwork, commitment and a good defense (aka saving money) helps them live a more content, confident and generous life.

Kelly joined Thrivent in 1984 with the majority of her career spent in Human Resources. During her tenure she has worked in a number of roles that have allowed her to work with leaders and executives across the organization. She had the opportunity to move into a Recruiting Coordinator role, and in 2012, found her sweet spot as a Recruiter. She's been in her current role, Sr Recruiter, since 2017 where she supports Regional Financial Offices across the county along with a number of corporate business lines. Her passion remains in building strong consultative relationships with our RFO's, Corporate leaders, and FRs, and ultimately provide a reliable and consistent experience as they are making impactful and important hiring decisions.
Born in Duluth and raised in Silver Bay, MN, Kelly continues to have a love of the North Shore and visits often. When not working, she loves spending time with her family which includes husband, two daughters, one son and one soon to be son-in-law. Kelly also loves reading, running, tennis, watching sports and traveling.

Lutheran Brotherhood/Thrivent has been such a huge part of Kelly's life, and she considers this time very significant as she thinks about major life milestones (and biggest blessings): she met her husband, had her family, and continued to add value in her career working part-time when her kids were younger (she helped create a business plan for the first job share at LB). Kelly went full-time about 10 years ago. Kelly lives her Thrivent Story every day while talking to candidates, and has the opportunity to tell them about Thrivent, our unique mission, and how employees, members and volunteers can make a difference in their own communities and world. Through Thrivent, she has experienced: Habitat Builds Worldwide trip to Macedonia, local Habitat builds, Action Teams, Feed My Starving Children, Choice Dollars, etc., She feels incredibly lucky to tell others what an amazing organization Thrivent is.
Molly joined Thrivent in 2016 as our first Talent Acquisition Intern. After an outstanding summer and support throughout her senior year, she joined our team full-time as a Program Coordinator upon graduation. Molly later became Appleton's first Campus Recruiter on the University Relations team in October 2018. She excels at providing top notch customer service to our candidates, and hiring leaders. You can find Molly traveling to career fairs around the United States in an effort to build Thrivent's presence on campus. She actively searches for top intern and entry level talent. Molly is all about the details and crafting meaningful internship experiences for all involved.
Born and raised in WI, Molly went to the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and majored in Human Resource Management. When she's not at work you'll find her at her family cottage on Lake Poygan, going to concerts, or cheering on the Green Bay Packers – Go Pack Go!
How Molly Lives Generously
As a member of Thrivent's Young Professional Network, Molly helps plan and execute volunteer events in the Fox Valley. A few of the ways she engages young professionals in the community include putting care packages together for our soldiers, volunteering at the Boys & Girls club, and helping out with local Habitat for Humanity builds.
