Pictures worth a thousand words help chapter tell its story
Chapter leader's hobby helps chapter receive Web Site of the Month honors
Congratulations to the leaders of the Jefferson County WI Chapter, especially to Lynn Mehringer, communications director and Web site administrator, whose site has been named Chapter Web Site of the Month for June.
An excellent feature of this site is its Photo Album page that includes many excellent pictures and brief descriptions of chapter activities and events that have taken place in the chapter. The page does a great job of sharing, through pictures, what the chapter and service teams have done to "multiply the good" in helping the community and local congregations within the chapter. Visitors definitely get the message that coming together to volunteer is fun, but also makes a tremendous impact on those they help.
"This is my first experience doing a Web site, so there's still much more I want to do," says Lynn. "However, what came very easy is my digital scrapbooking hobby and how I'm able to put it to use by creating layouts with photos and text that are then uploaded to the photo gallery."
In addition to the Photo Album page, Lynn uses her hobby to post pictures that highlight the fun and fellowship of Thrivent Financial members at the chapter picnic and their involvement in the county fair. Other features that help make this site a winner include:

- Easy access to forms that volunteers need to complete before, during and after activities, including a form for requesting promotional materials

"It's important to keep the site up-to-date," says Lynn. "People want fresh, current, timely information … to learn something new each time they visit … or they simply won't visit."
