To verify that the correct amount of locally-raised and supplemental funds are being received by the intended recipients of Care Abounds in Communities® fund-raising activities in a timely manner, an audit feature is in place.
Thirty days after a fund-raising activity for an individual or a family is reported as complete and Thrivent Financial has disbursed the supplemental funds, a "funds acknowledgement" letter is sent to the recipient. The recipient is asked to complete and return the bottom half of the letter to the Fraternal Operations area at Thrivent Financial, indicating whether or not funds were received.
If the recipient responds that he/she has not received funds, Fraternal Operations will send an e-mail to the chapter's financial director and ask for a status update on the activity in question.
