All elected chapter leaders on the leadership board--required and optional elected positions--have equal voting rights (one vote per person) regardless of their position on the leadership board. If an elected chapter leadership position becomes vacant at any point in the year (person moves, dies, cannot fulfill duty, etc.), a member may be appointed to fill out the term (until Dec. 31 of that year). The partial-year term counts as one full term toward the four consecutive term limit requirement for elected chapter leaders.

The appointed leader has the following voting rights on the chapter leadership board:

• Members appointed to fill positions vacated by an elected leader have the same voting rights of elected leadership board members.
  
  
• Members who are appointed by Thrivent Financial to fill required elected chapter leadership board positions vacated by an elected leader (if position has been vacant for more than three months) have the same voting rights of elected leadership board members.
  
  
• Members who are appointed to an optional elected chapter leadership position that was not filled at the time of the chapter leadership election (i.e., was not voted in by the chapter membership) have the same voting rights of elected chapter leadership board members. However, it is expected that the position be elected just like other "required elected leaders" in subsequent chapter leader elections.
