Chapters have two main responsiblities in relation to the annual national Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Board of Directors electionthey may nominate candidates for the election each spring, and they can promote the election by encouraging benefit members to submit their ballots each fall.

Chapters asked to promote national board of directors election Because benefit members directly elect our governing body, chapters should be diligent in encouraging benefit members to exercise their voting privilege. We ask that chapter leaders use every opportunity available to remind benefit members to submit their ballots during the election period. Whenever you have contact with memberswhether at church, chapter leader elections, chapter meetings or any other chapter event before Nov. 29 we ask that you actively promote the national board of directors election. Let benefit members know that their right to vote is a unique privilege of being part of a fraternal benefit society. As benefit members, they get to help decide who serves on the governing board of their organization. The Election Invitation newsletter automatically includes the following paragraph encouraging benefit members to vote. This year, we are again conducting the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans National Board of Directors election through the mail. If you are a benefit member (generally the insured or annuitant on an insurance or annuity contract issued by Thrivent Financial, or premerger AAL or LB), you are eligible to vote and will receive the mailing. The opportunity to elect your Board of Directors is a benefit of your membership in our fraternal benefit society. Watch your mail in October for election materials.
