The chapter structure allows Thrivent Financial members to request Care Abounds in Communities® funds from chapters other than the one they are assigned. Chapter leadership boards do have the flexibility to fund activities that occur outside their chapter boundary. In fact, we encourage chapters to work together to meet more needs. For example, assume that a chapter has used all of its Care Abounds in Communities® funding for the year. If a community service team from that chapter has identified a need and activity, it is appropriate for the service team to request funding from another chapter that has funds remaining. For the names and phone numbers of chapter leaders from another chapter, members should call their Lutheran Community Services (LCS) Team. The chapter that funds the activity handles the activity request, reports the activity, etc., as it would with other activities supported by the chapter.
