Working With Faith — A Welcome note from Thrivent Financial

Bruce Nicholson

There are countless reasons I’m blessed to work for the organization I do, and chief among them is the fact that Thrivent Financial for Lutherans does not have to ask its employees to leave their faith at the door every morning. On the contrary, both our Appleton and Minneapolis headquarters have on-site chapels, and Thrivent Financial team members put the spirit of faith and fellowship that’s at the heart of our organization into practice each and every day.

Over the past year, I’ve spent a good deal of time discussing the relationship and barriers between faith and work with my pastor, the Rev. Vern Christopherson. We’ve learned a great deal from one another–and eliminated plenty of preconceptions along the way. You can read more about our breakfast chats, which I hope are as inspiring to you as they have been to us. And speaking of inspirations, I’d like to extend best wishes to John Gilbert, our outgoing chairman of the board who has been my partner in leading Thrivent Financial since the merger in 2002. John is retiring after 40 years of service to Aid Association for Lutherans and Thrivent Financial. Read his uplifting reflections. Thank you, John, on behalf of our entire membership, for your invaluable leadership, vision and stewardship.

Sincerely,

Bruce J. Nicholson
President and Chief Executive Officer
