Long Term Care—Are You Prepared?

The choice is yours
When you dream about retirement, chances are your thoughts turn to vacation homes—not nursing homes. Yet odds are that sometime in your life, you or someone you love may need long-term care. The choices you make today may impact the choices you have tomorrow.

Many people aren't likely to think about needing long-term care until it becomes a reality. Yet, statistics show:

  • Half of women age 65 and older will spend some time in a nursing home.1
  • One-third of men age 65 and older will spend some time in a nursing home.1

Planning ahead may help you protect two very important things: your assets and your freedom to make choices about the kind of long-term care you or your loved one receive. To help you develop a plan, there are many things you need to consider—such as the information provided in the Long Term Care Insurance pages of this Web site.
