Kent, WA
Mid King County Chapter

Josh TraxelAs youth director in the Mid King County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Josh encourages youth to participate in as many approved activities as possible. He provides an excellent example to the other youth and sends a positive message that chapter leadership is not just for older volunteers.

As Web master, Josh set up and maintains the chapter's Web site. He is willing and eager to use his free time to serve in this capacity, and his efforts have made the chapter more efficient in helping members. Josh also volunteers his time to assist his pastor in visiting the elderly in their homes and assisted-living facilities, and works with Valley Camp in the ongoing ministry that helps youth and adults learn and grow together.

Josh is on the Student Advisory Board for the Visual Arts Festival, serves as a tutor with special-education students, participated in the 30-hour famine event that raised $5,500 for the needy in other nations, and volunteered to work with the King of Kings Rummage Sale for World Missions. He also works with the LaRange, SK (Canada) Outreach Ministry as a camp counselor teaching the basics of the Christian faith to the unchurched.
