Myron Fougeron
Kerney, NE
Buffalo County Chapter

Myron and Iola both taught at the University of Nebraska - Kearney, where they were no doubt exposed to new ideas from students all the time. That may be why, when Myron hears anyone complain that "things aren't the way they used to be" under the new Thrivent chapter system, he tells them, "If things don't change, they die!"

As strong proponents of Thrivent Financial, they strongly urge others to talk about the organization and all the good it does to everyone they meet. To help out in their chapter, Iola serves as congregational service team director and was the powerhouse behind obtaining a $10,000 grant from Thrivent Financial for Habitat for Humanity in Kearney. Myron serves as congregational coordinator, and the couple works together on Habitat projects each year.

The Fougerons are involved in many other volunteer activities together: they are members of Action Club, an organization to assist handicapped children; they do volunteer work with the Kearney Police Department; they serve as substitute Sunday school teachers; and they volunteer at the Platte Valley Archway Monument. Myron also serves on the church council and is a member of Kiwanis.
