Cheryl Stodolka
Field Impact and Change Management
Minneapolis
Cheryl Stodolka, an implementation consultant in the Field Impact and Change Management area at Thrivent Financial, is a familiar and friendly face at numerous Thrivent chapter, community and congregation events.
Cheryl always finds a way to give her talents and time to help others, including volunteer opportunities presented through Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
In describing her volunteer work with Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity — despite her lack of carpentry skills — Cheryl says: “There’s always a job that you can do to help.” It is a philosophy that has led Cheryl to donate her time and energy to many volunteer opportunities in the Twin Cities.
She is a co-leader for an annual children’s coat drive for Person to Person, an organization that provides a support system to hundreds of low-income individuals and families. Through her work, and the generosity of Thrivent Financial employees, more than 100 children in need received new coats last year.
Cheryl has served on the board of the Corporate Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, and is actively involved in the chapter’s many fund-raising events, which raise tens of thousands of dollars each year.
Several times a year, Cheryl helps assemble toy-filled bags for Cheerful Givers, an organization that distributes birthday gifts to children through local food shelves. “It warms my heart to know that with each assembly event, 50 or more children are assured of receiving at least this one present on their birthday,” says Cheryl.
Children are also the beneficiaries of Cheryl’s efforts with Feed My Starving Children. Through Thrivent Financial corporate events and also through her church, Cheryl helps pack hundreds of nutritious meals for hungry children around the world as part of an experience she describes as “gratifying and humbling.”
Other volunteer opportunities where Cheryl touches the lives of others include being an usher and Altar Guild member at Easter Lutheran Church, sold daffodils for the American Cancer Society, made sandwiches for JOIN HANDS DAY volunteers, and served at Thrivent Family Day at the Minnesota Zoo. |
