The East Falls Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans would like to invite you to join us for our next community service activity – a fund-raiser to help cover medical bills for three-year-old Holly Lambrecht, who is fighting cancer.

The benefit dance and auction will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, at the Glendale Community Center, 1234 Main Street, Glendale, IL.  We expect approximately 200 people to attend, and we plan to invite the local media as well.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a nationwide membership organization committed to helping its nearly 3 million members achieve their financial goals and give back to their communities.  In 2006, Thrivent and its members made $316.2 million impact through outreach programs and activities that support congregations, schools, charitable organizations and individuals in need.  Thrivent members volunteered more than 21 million hours through 75,150 chapter activities in 2006.

Some of the activities our local chapter has accomplished during the past year include:

• A valentine sale to benefit an individual with cancer - $14,787 was raised.
• A “Grace Gala” benefit dance that attracted 150 people and raised $3,900 for a local parochial school.
• A bowl-a-thon that raised more than $2,000 to help the local Boys and Girls Club.
