C. Do It! And Celebrate!

1.
Do it! Carry out your plans to help others.

Here's where it all happens. Now it's time to hold the activity you've been planning. Most often, if good planning has occurred, the activity will be a success. However, unforeseen things can cause an activity to be less than you expected. Don't get discouraged. Remember, doing something (to help) is always better than doing nothing at all.

2.
Celebrate completion of activity and recognize your volunteers.

3.
Tell us what you did. Then pay bills, send receipts and present funds to the recipient.
Report the results of your activity to your chapter leadership board. Here are some things you'll want to keep track of to tell them:

  • The number of Thrivent Financial member households that participated (if known)
  • The number of volunteer hours spent planning, organizing and putting on the activity
  • The funds raised (if fund-raiser).
  • Total cost of supplies (if hands-on service)

The chapter leadership board enters this information online which triggers the immediate release of supplemental funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to the chapter leadership board. Receipts are required in order for this process to take place.

It is important that you pay your bills as soon as possible. Send all receipts for expenses to the chapter leadership board. Your chapter leaders may have provided you with an envelope to keep receipts in. Complete the information on the outside of the envelope and send it to your chapter leadership board along with the receipts.

Tell us how we did!

Please take just a few minutes to complete our short feedback form, to let us know if this online tool was helpful, and to let us know what kind of activity you did.

A benefit supper, dance and silent auction were held at Clear Lake High School in Clear Lake, WI to benefit a young girl in her senior year of high school whose mother died of cancer. A near fatal accident four months later left the young girl in a coma for more than 10 days and was temporarily paralyzed for more than three weeks. The Thrivent Financial community service team raised $11,486.
