2007 Enhancements

New enhancements passed into law as of January 1, 2007

  • Direct transfer from Health Flexibility Spending arrangements (FSAs) or Health Reimbursement arrangements (HRAs) allowed through 2011.
  • One-time transfer allowed from your IRA to your HSA (limited to the maximum HSA contribution for the year).
  • Make a full-year HSA contribution even if you open your HSA after January 1, 2007. Previously contribution limits were pro-rated for the number of months your HSA was in force.
  • HSA contributions are no longer limited by your health plan's deductible amounts.
