(Chart Guide)

Investment Objective
  • To seek long-term capital appreciation.
Investment Strategy
  • Focuses mainly on the stocks of companies with market capitalizations similar to those companies included in widely known mid-cap indices such as the Russell Midcap Value Index.
  • A forward-looking investment approach will be used based on the belief that rigorous independent research is key to identifying quality, well-positioned businesses selling at compelling valuations.
Benefits of Investing in the Thrivent Partner Mid Cap Value Portfolio
  • Access to the expertise of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, a leading investment management firm with $420 billion in assets under management (as of 12/31/2004).
  • Mid cap value manager, with an experienced team of 14 professionals with more than 185 years combined investment experience and in-depth industry knowledge.
  • A team approach to decision making that facilitates a dynamic exchange of ideas and individual accountability for investment decisions.
  • Targeted expertise, with investment professionals focusing on specific industries to deliver depth and breadth of research focus.
  • Style-consistent diversification into the mid-cap value space, which ensures that the appropriate diversification is maintained in an overall portfolio.
  • Forward-looking investment approach that focuses on quality, well-positioned businesses selling at compelling valuations.
Special Investment Risks
  • The Portfolio is exposed to the risks of investing in equity securities of medium-sized companies. Medium-sized companies often have greater price volatility, lower trading volume, and less liquidity than larger, more-established companies. These companies tend to have small revenues, narrower product lines, less management depth and experience, smaller shares of their product or service markets, fewer financial resources, and less competitive strength than larger companies. Value portfolios are subject to style risk in that value investing may fall out of favor with investors. These and other risks are described in the Portfolio’s prospectus.

Investment Minimums
  • All initial and subsequent investment minimums exist at the contract level. Most subaccounts carry no investment minimums. The minimum Fixed Period Allocation is $1,000. The minimum allocation to a Return Protection (RP) subaccount is $10,000. See the Prospectus for additional information.
