(Chart Guide)

Investment Objective
  • To achieve a high level of income over the longer term while providing reasonable safety of capital, through investment primarily in readily marketable intermediate- and long-term fixed-income securities.
Investment Strategy
  • Invests primarily in intermediate- and long-term investment grade corporate bonds or preferred stock, rated at least Baa by Moody’s, with an average credit rating of A.
  • Makes tactical shifts into higher quality high yield bonds to provide added diversification and a potentially higher return.
  • Tends to have a longer weighted average maturity and lower average credit quality than the Thrivent Bond Index Portfolio.
Benefits of Investing in the Thrivent Income Portfolio
  • Well-diversified portfolio with exposure to all the main components of the fixed-income market.
  • Focus on bonds with longer maturities and lower credit ratings can lead to greater return opportunities and greater diversification of an overall portfolio.
  • Extensive in-house credit research and quantitative analysis lead to effective application of risk controls and prudent sector-allocation management.
Special Investment Risks
  • The Portfolio is subject to interest rate risk, credit risk related to a company’s underlying financial position and prepayment and extension risk which may result in overall price fluctuations over short or even extended time periods. These and other risks are described in the prospectus.
Investment Minimums
  • All initial and subsequent investment minimums exist at the contract level. Most subaccounts carry no investment minimums. The minimum Fixed Period Allocation is $1,000. The minimum allocation to a Return Protection (RP) subaccount is $10,000. See the Prospectus for additional information.
