Marie Uhrich oversees Thrivent Financial for Lutherans’ internal, external, field staff and member communications and corporate relations programs.

Prior to joining Thrivent Financial in 2004, Uhrich served as an executive consultant to the organization through her firm, Silver Creek Consulting, Ltd. From 1991-2001, she developed and led all communications functions for the securities firm Piper Jaffray, Minneapolis, as managing director of the Communications Consulting Group. Prior to that, she was assistant vice president, corporate communication, for First Bank System of Minneapolis. She also previously was manager of employee communications for Honeywell Bull in Minneapolis, and earlier held positions with B. Dalton Bookseller and Hello Minnesota.

Uhrich is a member of the board of directors of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Fox Valley Community Foundation and a former board member of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.

A native of Alberta, Minn., Uhrich received a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. She is a graduate of the Center For Creative Leadership Women’s Leadership Program and a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute at the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
