Holly Morris oversees Thrivent Financial for Lutherans’ information technology (IT) functions. This encompasses all IT systems, planning, operations, business process management, continuous improvement, architecture, engineering and other services.

Morris joined Thrivent Financial as chief information officer in 2006. She was elected senior vice president by the Thrivent Financial board of directors in May 2006. From 2001 to 2005 Morris served as senior vice president of technologies/global financial services at American Express. She held senior leadership positions in technology at ING Financial Services/Reliastar Financial of Minneapolis from 1997 to 2001. Morris served as chief information officer for the City of Minneapolis from 1993 to 1997. Earlier in her career, she worked for Minneapolis-based Alliant Techsystems and Honeywell International.

Active in the community, Morris serves on two advisory councils at the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minn. She also serves on the board of directors for the Royal Cameron Corp., Cameron, Texas.

A native of Warren, Ohio, Morris received her bachelor’s degree in classics from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. She earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in anthropology from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
