David Anderson oversees Thrivent Financial for Lutherans’ financial services operations for insurance and mutual funds. These functions include new business services, customer interaction and investment services, product services, as well as affiliated support systems and management.
Anderson joined Thrivent Financial in 1983 as programmer. He has served in a number of positions, including vice president of delivering member services - central region, vice president of membership growth and vice president of member acquisition. At the time of the merger that formed Thrivent Financial, Anderson was named vice president of new business. He assumed his current position as senior vice president of financial services operations in January 2005.
Anderson is chairman of the Wisconsin Timber Rattler baseball club board of directors, a member of the Community Blood Center board of directors, and is a member of the Self-Study Task Force at First English Lutheran Church in Appleton. He has served on committees for the Boys & Girls Club and for USA/Youth Sports Complex. A native of Rugby, N.D., he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1983 from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn. He earned his MBA from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., in 1997.
